Geneva, thanks for your comments. Emmitt Smith really is a great, positive role model isn't he?

-- Contributed by: GenevaBrandon, After a little digging, I found some info on Emmitt Smith:
- He began playing football as a young child on Salvation Army facilities
- His parents worked hard to provide for their children but also relied on Government assistance to help feed and clothe their family.
- He took odd jobs when he was in middle school in order to buy his own clothes when his mother could not afford it.
- When he was young, he taught himself to cook so he could help take care of his grandmother, who was bedridden.
- When speaking about his football career he was quoted as saying "I looked at my Mama, I looked at where we were living and said we have a chance to move on up."
did emmitt have any struggle to get to where he is today?
-- Contributed by: brandon fYes, I've questioned how some of the stars can qualify as novices.
-- Contributed by: WhimWell, I said it before and I will say it again. Emmitt is the best. I thought the show was called "Dancing with the Stars" not teaching new dance techniques to those who have had a little dancing taughtto them before they went on the show.
-- Contributed by: MARY MONTANAFor a big guy, this guy can really dance. Surprised me. But it wasn't his dancing ability that won him Dancing with the Stars. He truly looked like he was having a good time. When he danced, the viewer felt the energy, while Mario Lopez and Joey Lawrence often looked like they were performing. Granted, they all were, but a truly good entertainer allows the viewer to forget that it isn't real.
