Poor John Travolta and Kelly Preston. As if the couple hasn’t had a difficult enough time coping with the loss of their son Jett, a judge has declared a mistrial in the extortion case of the paramedic and a Bahamian politician who attempted to extort $25 million from the couple regarding Jett’s death. The judge believed there was jury misconduct. |

So, the juror who was the cause of the mistrial has had his day in court. The judge beleived that he had experienced enough public humiliation, so did not sentence the man to any prison time or anything else. I’m not sure if he even got a fine. |

I wonder how you define “enough” public humiliation? How much is “enough” anyway? I too feel so bad for the Travoltas. I would imagine that they simply want this nightmare to be over and it seems to just drag on and on. They can’t catch a break. Also, what does it say about humans that someone would come up with a horrific plot to extort money from a family who has just lost their first born child? Sick. |
