Cute Celebrity Couples

With all of the focus on who’s hooking up with who, it’s nice sometimes to think of the celebrity couples that make us smile. Either because they’re just plain cute together, or because they’ve been together for ages and it’s hard to imagine one without the other.

What are some of your favorite “cute” couples? I really like Courtney Cox and David Arquette - they’re not overdone in the media, and they always really look happy together.

I’ve read that Courtney and David do couple’s counseling and work to keep their marriage healthy - kind of nice to know some celeb couples are that invested in their marriage.

I think Ben Stiller and his wife (Christine Taylor is it?) seem like a happy couple… Will Smith and Jada Pinkett have been together for awhile. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together, like, forever, right?

You know who else is cute together? Chris Brown and Rihanna, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia Di Rossi, Barack and Michelle Obama…love them! I know, my list is totally random, but those are the couples that first came to mind.

Couples I could do without? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony (yes, yes, he does look like Skeletor..just waiting for him to bust out “Now I, Skeletor am Master of the Universe. Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!) and of course, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Is it just me, or does Katie seem like she’s aged about 10 years since marrying him? She used to be soooo cute, and now she just looks tired.

While it kills me to see him with another woman (wink), I think hottie Matt Damon and his wife (sniff, sniff) Luciana Barroso make a cute pair.  Matt’s pal Ben Affleck didn’t do so bad with Jennifer Garner either.  They seem to be a much better match for each other than Ben and Jennifer Lopez.  Both couples seem very comfortable with each other.

My favorite reunited celeb pairing is Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.  Their on screen chemistry in The Notebook was so juicy!  I love this pair and hope they keep their love story alive.

Jodie, I loooved Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling too, but unfortuantely, they’ve split again. These two have split and gotten back together many, many times. I think these two are the cutest together. The rumor is, is that he broke up with her because she was too controlling.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick are a wonderful couple as are Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. But these are both couples that put their relationship first. The whole Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise is such a press nightmare that I think people’s perceptions of the couple and the real people are so completely disconnected as to be ridiculous.

Given the recent events surrounding Chris Brown and Rihanna, I’m going to have to take back my earlier comment of them being a cute couple. I, like most, agree with Heather on the whole Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes thing. I think hooking up with him was the worst thing she could do for her career. Has she really done anything since? I mean, she had that forgettable movie ‘‘Mad Money’’ a few years back and has been doing the whole Broadway thing, but does she have any other hobbies? Friends? Anything besides Tom??

Is she not working because she’s married to Tom or because she has a very young baby?

I think she’s not working because no one wants to hire her.  Actually, I shouldn’t say that because she did have mild success on Broadway last year and she is booked to appear in a Broadway reunion show of sorts coming up soon.  Still, I think Tom Cruise has a major impact on what she does and does not do career wise.  On a side note, I saw a recent interview she did with “ET” in which she said she didn’t plan to add more kids to the family any time soon.

So let’s turn this around—Katie Holmes was big because of Dawson’s Creek and her part as Rachel Daws on Batman Begins and a couple of other movies (that Presidential daughter flick comes to mind). She had a passable career, but she wasn’t some breakout Julia Roberts or Jodie Foster.

Isn’t she more ‘notorious’ because of her relationship with Tom Cruise? And more well-known?

Katie is definitely more notorious since marrying Tom, but I don’t think in a good way. I think the last role she played in which she was actually noticed by critics was ‘‘Thank You for Smoking’’ starring opposite Aaron Eckhart. I also agree that Tom has too much of a say on the roles she’s accepting. You know he would have ‘‘never’’ agreed to allow her to do ‘‘Thank You for Smoking’’ given the steamy scenes she has with Eckhart in the film.

I really like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. They seem like such nice, normal people. I love how they seem to be hands-on parents.

For the same reasons, I love Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. They are both so down-to-earth and I love how they’re kids are kept out of the spotlight.

The Celebrity Couple that looks really cute are Freddie Prince Jr.& Sarah Michelle Gellar.*wink*

Sarah Michelle Gellar is about to give birth to Freddie Prinze’s baby any day now.  I think they are a cute couple and they have accomplished what many other star couples have not been able to do—stay out of the headlines.  They seem very “real” and you don’t typically see them making the media rounds unless they are promoting a new project.  I hope they last.
