Young Jeezy Busted...Again
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Young Jeezy is apparently making good on his self-proclaimed quest to maintain his "street cred" by getting arrested…again.
And the Charges Are…DUI
Again, the "thing" for the young, rich and famous to do these days is get arrested for driving under the influence. It happens so often that it's almost yawn inducing.
While normal, non-celebrities tend to take the issue of drinking and driving very seriously, young and successful Hollywood types seem to look at it as a right of passage. As though getting arrested for drunk driving allows them access to some special club. If there were such a club, hip hop artist Young Jeezy has joined the likes of Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan and all the rest whom are already card holding members of the "drunk driving club."
Multiple Run-Ins with the Law
For someone to blow the music industry away with his talent enough to be dubbed the "gnarliest MC of the south" by Rolling Stone, Young Jeezy sure does make some, shall we say, not-so-smart personal decisions. Here's the latest rundown:
- July 2008 – Arrested for DUI and charged with:
- Speeding
- Reckless driving
- No license plate or tags
- Driving with an open container
- No proof of insurance
- May 2007 – Arrested for disorderly conduct at an Atlanta strip club.
- March 2006 – Arrested in Florida for his alleged involvement in a shoot-out and charged with two counts of carrying an unregistered concealed weapon.
Put "Street Cred" to Bed Already
Seriously, just about everyone gets the whole concept of "street cred," right? Young Jeezy has stated in various interviews how important it is for him to maintain his, but, didn't he supposedly "earn" this all important street cred before he became successful? Aren't his "earning" days over now? At nearly 30 years old, isn't it about time to start enjoying the success of a career that he seemingly worked so hard for as opposed to wasting his time in jail and spending his hard earned money on lawyers and posting bail? Only time will tell.
