Willie Aames Robbed at Gunpoint
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Willie Aames, former 80s TV star, was robbed at gunpoint on January 7, 2008.
About Willie Aames
While Willie Aames isn’t much of a celebrity these days, in the late 1970s and 1980s he made a mark in television and movies, most notably playing Tommy Bradford on Eight is Enough and Buddy Lembeck on Charles in Charge, starring Scott Baio.
Out of the Spotlight
After the 1980s, Willie Aames was seldom seen on television or in movies. While his celebrity fell a few pegs, he did develop a Christian superhero named Bibleman, starring in videos and giving performances.
Somewhere along the way Aames turned to drugs, but kicked the habit in recent years.
Back in the Spotlight
Willie Aames made a semi-comeback on the second season of the celebreality series Celebrity Fit Club in 2005. On the show, Aames was often confrontational and, well – flat out rude and obnoxious. While his behavior wasn’t always ideal, Aames did lose 19 pounds and seemed to see himself in a new light by the end of the challenge.
Robbed at Gunpoint
Willie Aames and his son, Christopher, were robbed at gunpoint in Los Angeles on January 7, 2008. While Aames and his son gave up their wallets, there was only $15 cash between them.
Police are investigating the robbery.
Good News/Bad News
Aames’ rep told TMZ, "Willie is in town to shoot a celebrity reality show for VH1. He credits what he’s learned on the show in helping him to remain calm during this situation."
The good news? Aames and his son are fine after the incident. The bad news? Willie Aames will be on another VH1 reality show.
