Whitney Port's Job Fake

From LoveToKnow Celebrity

Some are saying the former Hills girl Whitney Port's job is a fake.

Whitney Port

Made for Television Job

Whitney Port, one of the most likeable characters on The Hills moved from the warm and sunny west coast to pursue a job with famed fashion icon Diane Von Furstenburg in New York. Snitches are now saying that Miss Port doesn't actually have a job at the fashion house as they, like the rest of country, are laying people off due to economic woes. Sources say that the job is merely a front for both Von Furstenburg to promote her brand and Port to promote herself with her own show.

It's hard to think of Whitney as a shameless self promoter, so judge for yourself there. It's questionable, at best, as to whether or not a woman who has been known in the past to sell over $1 million worth of clothing in less than two hours needs to self promoter her brand or her business.

More Snitch Bits

As far as working, or faking work, at Diane Von Furstenburg, Whitney and her ever present camera crews are not making fast friends with the rest of the staff:

  • Staff members complain that they can't get their work done because, due to numerous re-shoots, they have to leave everything on their desks in the exact same place.
  • The cameras are disruptive, leading to less productive employees.
  • Whitney is "hardly ever" in the office.

Regardless of whether her job is real or fake, there were reportedly one million less viewers for the premiere episode of The City than there were for The Hills season finale. Maybe Whitney will get out of the whole reality television limelight sooner rather than later. She'd probably end up being better off for it.
