Tori Spelling's New Calling: Ordained
Minister
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
From child actor to innkeeper, you'd think Tori Spelling has done it all and is happy being a wife and new mom. Nope -- guess again. The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star is now an ordained minister. Didn't see that one coming, did you?
Woman of the Cloth
Spelling, 34, daughter of the late television mogul Aaron Spelling, announced on her MySpace blog that she is a minister. "I am now officially ordained. Yep, that's right. -- Reverend Tori Spelling! I did it last week online and my official certificate is in the mail," she wrote July 9, 2007 in her blog.
Her first official duty as a minister was performing a same-sex union at the Chateau La Rue, the quaint little bed and breakfast Spelling and her husband, Dean McDermott, run as part of the Oxygen's Tori & Dean Inn Love, a celebreality show heading into its second season. "We did it on the front steps of the Chateau as 40 of their friends looked on seated in a lounge like atmosphere. It was so beautiful as I united Tony and Dex as life partners in love," she wrote.
Tori's Busy Year
Before venturing into the ministry, Tori Spelling admittedly had been having a busy year. In March 2007, Spelling and McDermott opened their California inn and subsequently the first season of their show. The same month, the actress also made amends with her mother, Candy. The mother and daughter had been estranged since Aaron Spelling's death in 2006. And then on March 13, 2007, Tori and Dean's son, Liam Aaron McDermott was born in Los Angeles, California.
