Same Old Rivalries

Yeah yeah, Heidi and Spencer hate Lauren and everyone else. That's old news. Lo, who seems completely unlikeable, and Audrina are in a bit of a spat and Lauren - surprise, surprise - is caught in the middle. No new news there. In fact, this little high-schoolish infighting is getting a bit old and boring. Aren't most of these "kids" in their early to mid-twenties now? When you live in a two million dollar home, isn't it about time to grow up?

Okay, enough with the snark. Here's something a bit more interesting about The Hills…their pay.

Getting Paid to Play

So, the rumor that The Hills is scripted has been running around for a while now. Lauren Conrad has repeatedly disputed this rumor, but here's a little tidbit that goes to the contrary of Miss Conrad's flat out denials of the show being at least partially scripted. Check out the cast member per-episode salaries:

• Lauren - $75,000
• Audrina - $35,000
• Heidi - $65,000
• Spencer - $65,000
• Whitney - $20,000
• Brody - $10,000
• Lo - $10,000
• Stephanie Pratt - $8,000

Now, does Lauren really think that the general viewing public is going to believe that the producers of the show aren't going to want a little more conjured up drama for that kind of per-episode cash?
