Tawny Kitaen Busted on Drug Possession

Tawny Kitaen, who once rose to fame as the girl in the Whitesnake videos, has had her share of ups and downs over the years. Her most recent incident is a felony drug possession charge.

Tawny Kitaen had a leading role in the 1984 comedy film Bachelor Party, opposite Tom Hanks, but she will likely be most remembered for her music video appearances. In the late 1980s, Kitaen appeared in several Whitesnake videos, with her husband at the time, lead-singer David Coverdale. The image of her doing a flip and split on the hood of a car helped her pave the way as a video vixen.

Kitaen appeared in a series of B-rate movies, and her marriage to Coverdale ended in divorce. She married major league baseball pitcher Chuck Finley and had two children with the athlete. In 2002, she was charged with domestic violence for kicking Finley while wearing high heels and twisting his ear. He filed for divorce three days after her arrest. She maintained that the incident resulted from her addiction to depression and migraine medications. The misdemeanor spousal abuse counts were dropped when she agreed to anger management counseling.

Tawny Kitaen seemed to make a small comeback when she guest-starred on an episode of Seinfeld and hosted the show America’s Funniest People in the early nineties. She re-emerged in the reality spotlight on the sixth season of VH1’s The Surreal Life in 2006.

Kitaen, 45, was arrested on November 21, 2006 when 15 grams of cocaine was found in her apartment during a welfare check. According to an Orange County district attorney’s office spokeswoman, Kitaen will be arraigned on December 18th. Her sentence will likely include a drug treatment program, but she also faces up to three years of prison time.
