Spears and Federline Custody Drama Continues
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
As many celebrity journalists predicted as soon as Britney Spears and Kevin Federline split up, their divorce drama did not end with the final decree.
Current Situation
The former couple's battle over custody of their two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, continues to make headlines even though the couple's divorce has been final for several months.
At the moment, Spears and Federline share joint custody of the boys, but Britney's ex is pushing for full custody. Federline recently had subpoenas issued to many of the people who know Britney best and have first-hand knowledge of her day-to-day interaction with the kids and her behavior. Those receiving subpoenas include Spears’ friends, employees and former employees. Since they were issued, Britney and Kevin have met several times in his office and in court.
The stress of the custody battle may be getting to Spears, as evidence by her recent disappointing performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was described as “embarrassing” by People Magazine.
Financial Arrangements
Federline is pushing for the pop star to bear financial responsibility for his legal expenses. Federline’s attorney asserts that his client doesn't have a net income after monthly business expenses are paid. Spears currently pays Federline $20,000 per month in spousal and child support, a mere fraction of her recently reported monthly income of more than $730,000.
Outcome Unknown
Only time will tell the outcome of the ongoing Spears-Federline custody battle. One can only hope that all parties involved have the best interest of the two children in mind and will continue to do so throughout the proceedings.
