Spears Custody Battle Over

From LoveToKnow Celebrity

Two years and no doubt, hundreds of thousands of dollars later, the Spears/Federline custody battle is over.

Britney Spears

Disputed Custody

Ever since their less then amicable split two years ago, it's been a less than smooth road for Britney Spears, culminating in a breakdown that sent her to the hospital. She lost custody of her boys, control of her estate and has had other mishaps along the way. During this time, Spears continued to fight Federline in court for the right to see her boys. Eventually, Federline and his lawyers agreed to supervised visits, but no overnight stays. Recently, Britney has since been granted a few sleepovers with her boys Jayden James and Sean Preston.

Aiming for Shared Custody

Apparently, the plan in the Spears' camp is to wait until dad Jamie Spears no longer holds conservatorship over Britney's financial affairs. When that time comes, Spears' lawyers plan to ask for shared custody for their client. Federline's attorneys state that their client would like nothing better than to have equal co-parenting time between he and Britney.

Moving Forward

Britney Spears has done her best to stay out of the spotlight and has received little, if any, negative press lately. With her latest album Blackout certified Gold and things with her ex-husband taking a turn for the positive, it seems that Britney Spears is making good strides to getting her personal life and career back on track.
