Snoop Dogg Takes on Reality TV

E! Entertainment Television has signed a deal with Snoop Dogg for a sneak peek of him, his wife of 10 years and their three kids. These type of “inside” views of celebrity life have fared well for families like The Osbournes and Hulk Hogan (Hogan Knows Best).

The series will look at Snoop Dogg as a celebrity pursuing his career and as dad. Snoop Dogg not only is a rapper, but an actor and producer too. He also founded the Snoop Youth Football League that coaches 2,500 kids.

Ted Harbert, president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, commented, "Snoop Dogg is, without a doubt, one of the most charismatic and intriguing personalities in pop culture today… what makes Snoop most interesting is the side of him that people have never seen. The juggling act that Snoop faces day-in, day-out between career and family is certain to resonate with our viewers."

The half-hour series will debut on E! in late 2007.

Snoop Dogg’s Achievements

Snoop Dogg is not a B-List celebrity hoping to reinvigorate his career with a reality series. He has many achievements to his credit, including eight platinum-selling albums. He currently hosts Welcome to Da Chuuch with Big Snoop Dogg on XM Satellite Radio.

Community Service

With the good, comes the bad. Part of the reality show will capture some of his 800 hours of community service (400 hours of which he is allowed to contribute to his football league). His service comes as a result of felony weapon and drug charges from 2006.
