Singer Jewel Injured, Will Still do Dancing
With the Stars
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Even though singer Jewel is injured, she will still do Dancing With the Stars.
Practicing for Eight Hours a Day
Jewel has signed on and begun rehearsals for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, has injured her knees and been diagnosed with tendonitis. She will be taking a few days off from the rehearsal schedule, but plans to rejoin her fellow celebrities on the show.
In her blog, Jewel details the pain she was experiencing after practicing for eight hours at a time. After seeing a doctor, she has been put on a regimen of medicine, ice packs and lots of rest. She'll miss about a week worth of rehearsals, but plans to be back and ready to dance when the season begins on March 9th.
Celebrities have three weeks to rehearse before the season begins. Jewel will miss a week, but she's positive that she'll be able to catch up and put her best foot forward.
Ty Murray
Jewel's husband, Ty Murray, is also on the show and has affectionately threatened to sideline his wife in the reality TV competition by getting her pregnant. He thinks that if she's in the early stages of pregnancy she'll be too tired to dance.
This is the second time that Jewel and Ty have appeared in a reality television show together. The first show was called Fast Cars and Superstars, in which they competed against each other on the race track. Both of them made it into the final round, but former NFL star John Elway won the competition.
Dancing Partners
On Dancing With the Stars, Jewel has been paired up with Dmitry Chaplan, while husband Ty Murray will dance with Chelsie Hightower. Both professionals come to the show from the hit dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance.
