It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane

It’s Jerry Seinfeld in a bee costume (complete with tights), promoting his film, Bee Movie. Seinfeld said of the stunt, "You know, one thing I hate is any kind of movie promotion that smacks of desperation in any way." Then he sailed off on a cable from an eight-story hotel, arriving on a paparazzi-crowded beach.

About Bee Movie

Seinfeld voices the lead character, Barry B. Benson, in the DreamWorks Animation film opening in November 2007. While the movie has not yet been completed, 30 minutes of footage was screened at Cannes.

The film has been four years in the making, and includes the vocal talents of Renee Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, Oprah Winfrey and Chris Rock. Seinfeld also wrote the script for the animated film, the idea which came to him while eating candy. During a dinner with Dreamworks co-founder Steven Spielberg, Seinfeld mentioned the premise and the idea took off from there.

Three different trailers for the film can be viewed at the Official Bee Movie site.

Daredevil Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld didn’t shy away from the opportunity to sail down the cable, saying, “It was very smooth and quiet. You kinda float out." Costar Chris Rock commented on what a risk-taker his pal is, saying, "Jerry skydives. He bungee jumps. I tell jokes for a living. That's as much risk as I take."
