Sarah Jessica Parker Expecting Twins

Sex and The City star Sarah Jessica Parker is expecting twins, but she isn't pregnant.

Not so long ago gossip columns, blogs and tabloids blew up with rumors that Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick were on the outs and possibly divorcing. The rumor started when Broderick was accused of having extra-marital dalliances.

The couple, of course, took the usual route of deny, deny, deny but everyone expected a divorce announcement at any moment. An announcement was made, but not of the divorcing kind.

It seems that shortly after the birth of their now six year old son James, Sarah and Matthew have been making failed attempts to have more children. Parker, now 44 and Broderick, now 47 (can anyone believe that Ferris Bueller is almost 50?) decided to look to alternatives and found one in a surrogate.

The "overjoyed" couple is expecting the arrival of their twin daughters sometime this summer, just around the time the sequel for the Sex and The City movie is to begin. Parker says that she is planning on taking some time off to spend with the twins, but still plans on being on set to reprise her role as Carrie Bradshaw.

So far, there has been no announcement that the filming or the scheduled 2010 release of the movie has been pushed back.
