Born in the small Ohio town of Nelsonville (population 5,000), Sarah Jessica Parker was destined to be a movie star. As Sarah grew older, she continued on the road to stardom by attending The Professional Children's School in New York City as well as the prestigious American Ballet Theater.
In 1997, Sarah Jessica Parker married Matthew Broderick. In 2002, they welcomed their first child, James, and she is rumored to be pregnant with their second child.

Sex and the City Shoots her to Super-Stardom
Parker has been a working actress ever since she was nine years old, but her Sex and the City role as Carrie Bradshaw was really when people started to stand up and take notice. The show about four single women trying to find love in New York City was loved by both critics and fans alike. When the show ended in 2004, rumors began spreading like wildfire about a planned Sex and the City movie. Production was put on hold, probably for various reasons, but rumors surfaced about the ongoing squabble between Sarah Jessica and co-star Kim Cattrall, who played the role of saucy Samantha Jones.
Sam and Carrie Versus Sarah and Kim
The two ladies played the best of friends on the show, but off-set it was rumored that they were anything but. The bickering began when Cattrall was reportedly miffed about how much Parker was being paid compared to how much she was being paid. As a result, the highly anticipated movie based on the award winning show was put on the shelf.
Mending Fences
It took a couple of years, but it seems that the two ladies have decided to make nice. With the launch of Sarah Jessica's new clothing line Bitten, Kim apparently sent her a congratulatory bouquet of flowers to which Parker sent Catrall a few items from her new clothing line. Fans can now breathe a collective sigh of relief as filming for Sex and the City is now underway.
Final Fun Facts
Just in case all of this information on Sarah was not enough, here are a few fun facts.
- She reportedly kept 70% of Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe from Sex and the City.
- Manolo Blahnik designed a shoe in her honor named SJP.
Comments
SJP appeared on the 11-21-07 episode of Bravo's Project Runway and helped judge the week's designs - the winner of the week's competition will have her design produced as part of Sarah Jessica's fashion line, geared to be fashion forward, but affordable!
