Robert Pattinson is a young actor who is best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the vampire series Twilight. Pattinson is also a model and musician, with many accomplishments already behind him.

Robert Pattinson was born in London, England. He has two older sisters, named Lizzy and Victoria. Pattinson became involved with community theatre and joined the Barnes Theatre Club where he took on roles in numerous plays, including Anything Goes, Macbeth and Tess of the D'Urbervilles.
While doing theatre work, Pattinson was discovered by an agent and film work soon followed.
His mother, Clare, worked for a modeling agency, so at the age of 12, Robert Pattinson was also doing some modeling work. This only lasted for about four years, however. At the same time, he was honing his musical skills on guitar and keyboards.

Pattinson's role as Edward Cullen has propelled him into super-stardom and he now graces the covers of teen magazines and appears on late night talk shows. Most fans of the books are enthusiastic over his portrayal of the lead character, which ensures that he will be back for the rest of the series to reprise this role.
Avoiding Typecasting with Little Ashes
After taking on two roles in major films that both cast Pattinson as a high school student, it was time to find something different. That role came along in the form of Little Ashes, a movie that focuses on the lives of artist Salvador Dali, writer Federico Garcia Larca and filmmaker Luis Bunuel. The movie is set in 1922 and Robert Pattinson takes on the role of a young Salvador Dali, who is just setting out on his path to find himself.
According to the Sunday Mercury, Pattinson says that playing Dali was "The first part I've had that has required really serious thought."
