Rihanna Talks

Singer Rihanna talks about the night Chris Brown attacked her.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, though the full interview hasn't been aired as of yet. So far, Rihanna talks about a lot of things, but not why she waited so long to speak up. The 21-year old finally talked about the incident because she basically wanted to speak out for victims of domestic violence everywhere, namely, her fans.

Shortly after the night Chris Brown beat Rihanna, there were rumors abound that the two had reconciled, spending time at Diddy's Miami home. Both Rihanna and Brown denied the claims at the time, but Rihanna has confirmed that there was a brief reconciliation. She goes on to say that for her, the reconciliation was a mistake and she was embarrassed and ashamed of herself for going back to him. That embarrassment and shame were a couple of the reasons she said she did not speak out sooner.

Rihanna also decided to talk about the incident because she felt as though she had an obligation to her fans to let them know that domestic violence is not okay, anytime or anyplace.

Rihanna speaking out about her abusive relationship with Chris Brown comes right before her new album Rated R, which is set for release at the end of November 2009. It seems that Rihanna channeled a lot of the emotion and energy she had been experiencing into her new album, calling it "super fearless."
