Presidential Candidates Find Celebrity Support
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Many celebrities are not shy about who they want to win the 2008 presidential election -- and they are putting their money behind their potential votes. According to the new database, Huffington Post's FundRace 2008, the average Joe can find out who and how much is being donated to each of the candidates' campaigns, whether the money comes from an ordinary citizen or a Hollywood superstar.
Team Obama
The following celebrities have given their endorsements (and money) to Democrat Barack Obama:
- Jennifer Aniston - $2,300 (maximum allowed for primary election)
- Halle Berry - $2,300
- George Clooney - $2,300
- Jamie Foxx - $2,300
- Tyra Banks - $2,300
- Will Smith - $4,600 (maximum allowed for combined primary and general elections)
- Susan Sarandon - $1,000
Team Clinton
Even the Trumps are getting in the presidential donations. Both Donald Jr. and Ivanka have thrown their support to Democrat Hillary Clinton, donating $4,000 and $1,000 respectively. Other celebs for Clinton include:
- Martha Stewart - $4,600
- Tom Hanks - $2,300
However, while not all celebrity activists may have made their donations yet, according to the database, celebrity activist Barbra Streisand donated $2,300 to each of Obama and Clinton's campaigns. Movie producer Steven Spielberg did the same. He has donated $2,300 each to Clinton, Obama, and democrats John Edwards and Bill Richardson's campaigns. Actor Kelsey Grammer donated $2,300 to Republican candidate Rudy Guillani's run for office, and actor Ben Stein threw in $750..

Kathy, unfortunately in politics, it seems that they've never outgrown that whole "Old Boys Club" mentality. While I won't discuss particulars in politics, I do agree that the public has been a little harsh on Palin. But, she is in the public eye, so I suppose it sort of comes with the territory.

-- Contributed by: SueLynnCartyI have a problem with no one supporting the rights of woman. The degrading of Sara Palin I think it is very offensive no matter what side of the isle you are on. Woman wake up. Don't forget what they did to Hillary. They played the race card with her every time she opened her mouth. Do I see a double standard here?
