Pictures of Celebrity Homes

From LoveToKnow Celebrity

For a nice escape from reality, it’s fun to check out how the upper crust lives – we’re talking about taking a peek at pictures of celebrity homes.

Many Hollywood mansions are home to movie stars, directors and musicians.

About Celebrity Homes

What can be said of celebrity houses? Bottom line: They’re big and they’re expensive. Celebrity homes have held the interest of people for many years, with the television show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous bringing these palatial living quarters to the masses. Magazines, such as In Style and Architectural Digest often include features about celebrity homes. Who doesn’t love to see the lavish digs of their favorite celebs? Of course, seeing how celebrities live leads many to wonder why they need so many bedrooms, bathrooms and cars, but that’s half the fun.

Finding Pictures of Celebrity Homes

Gated driveways and communities are the norm for most celebrity homes.

With the Internet, finding pictures of celebrity homes has become increasingly easy. You no longer have to wait for your favorite magazine or tabloid to hit the newsstands, instead it’s as easy as surfing for celebrity houses online. With the paparazzi always in full swing, there’s never a shortage of house photos available. Helicopters capture the overhead detail exquisitely so fans can get their fill of peeking at their favorite celeb’s home.

Forbes magazine ran an article in March 2006 entitled Homes of the Celebrities, including a slideshow of 16 homes. The slideshow includes photos of these celebrity residences:

Housing Styles

The types of homes that celebrities own vary in style, and include brick mansions, modern architecture, elegant penthouse suites in the city and sprawling ranches in the country. Many stars have the luxury of owning multiple homes – Martha Stewart, for instance, owns a home in Maine, a Manhattan condo, an East Hampton home, and a sprawling estate in Katonah, New York.

Whatever the style, the golden rule of “location, location, location” definitely applies to celebrities, although they typically seek a home locale that is secluded. With persistent paparazzi capturing their every move, finding an out-of-the-way locale is a desirable aspect of any property. In most cases, additional privacy is a major selling point.

With the public's interest in seeing the way celebrities live, several television shows highlight star homes, including:

  • MTV’s Cribs – First airing in 2000, Cribs takes an inside look at the young celebrities of the day. MTV keeps a gallery of pictures of celebrity homes that have been featured on the series.
  • VH1’s The Fabulous Life – This updated take on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous celebrates the excesses of celebrity living, including their posh living spaces. Two specials about the most extravagant star homes, called The Fabulous Life Presents: Insane Celebrity Real Estate ’06 and The World’s Most Fantabulous Homes, also aired.

Living Like a Celebrity

While most common folk don’t have the means of highly paid celebrities, they can find ways to emulate their favorite star’s interior design tastes. In fact, the Style television network has created a show with that premise in mind, called My Celebrity Home. Each episode transforms one fan’s room into a replica of their favorite star’s room. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or simply want to see how the design team can create an affordable recreation of a celebrity home, this show is worth a look. The SeenOn! Web site features “Shopisodes,” a number of episodes from the series with an embedded shopping guide to locate the exact items used.

Linda, a lot of people feel the same way as you do and there are a ton of celebrities that give back to their communities. Unfortunately, in these times, more and more people are in the exact same predicament you are. I don't understand why a celeb who banks 20 million a movie can't help out a little more to help feed and clothe families in need. But then again, who am I to say what they do with their money?

since these people can afford lux homes why don't they donate some money to the poor just down the hill from them many people in america are verly getting buy and they are ones that made these poeple all the money they have just like the the big corp used working class people to build their empires on and then just kicked them out without much of nothing what has happened to giving back to those who helped them when they needed it i worked 30 years in healthcare to end up with only enough to pay for the roof over my head and not even enough to buy more than hamberger and pray for a miracle to help pay for mortgage and medical bills. i can;t even afford to renew my medicines since insurance companies and pharacy have raise the cost not to mention the dr visits i can't pay to even go see to renew my rx just let use old people dy off and get the new young ones to take less and work harder which they won't since they see what it got their parents and grandparents nothing
