The Incident

In September 2006, Hilton was pulled over while driving in her Mercedes-Benz after a Hollywood charity concert. The Simple Life star was stopped for her erratic driving and given a Breathalyzer test, for which she had a level of 0.08.

Paris Hilton later called Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to explain that she was just “really hungry” and driving around in the pursuit of food. She also said “Everything I do is blown out of proportion. It really hurts my feelings.” Hilton was charged with two DUI charges, but pleaded not guilty and her charges were reduced.

No Contest

Paris Hilton was not present for her court appearance, but pleaded no contest to one count of alcohol-related reckless driving, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. The 25-year-old was placed on three years of probation, as well as ordered to pay a $390 fine plus penalties. Her rep, Elliot Mintz, estimated that the total cost would be $1,450. The cost is mere chump change to a wealthy heiress like Paris Hilton. The probation time, however, could prove to be more restrictive.

Paris Hilton's Probation

While Hilton received three years of probation, she could reduce the term to two years if she completes 40 hours of community service. Her rep said that his client was “happy the matter is over.” No word yet on whether or not she will complete the community service to reduce the probation time.
