Octomom Gets Reality TV Show

From LoveToKnow Celebrity

Nadya Suleman, better known as the Octomom, has signed a TV deal that will bring viewers a reality television show based on her and her fourteen children.

About the Octomom

Suleman made headlines in January 2009 when she gave birth to octuplets. At first, the general public was amazed and impressed, as all eight babies thrived. Eventually however, it came to light that Nadya Suleman already had six young children at home, had no job or source of income and became pregnant with her eight babies after aggressive fertility treatments.

Shortly after the birth of the octuplets, Suleman was labeled "Octomom" in the media. She has since filed to trademark the nickname to use in her television series, as well as a line of diapers and other baby products she hopes to introduce.

The Octomom TV Show

Suleman and her lawyer, Jeff Czech, confirmed that a deal has been signed with the Eyeworks production company, which is based in the United Kingdom, for a television program. No details of the show have been decided yet and no U.S. networks have yet expressed interest. Suleman claims that she would like to document the major events in her children's lives, without going the catastrophic route of the Gosselins on Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Suleman has also hired a ghostwriter to pen her autobiography.

What Will the Public Reaction Be?

Many people speculate that the octuplets are Suleman's meal ticket and that the main reason she continued to have more babies was to make herself famous. While lots of reality television fans have sworn that they would never watch a show featuring Suleman, it remains to be seen what kind of reaction the viewing public would have to such a program. It's possible that people are just too curious not to watch.
