Obsessed Paula Abdul Fan Commits Suicide

A 30-year old mentally handicapped woman who was obsessed with Paula Abdul committed suicide in her car in front of the singer's home.

A History of Mental Illness

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was reported missing by her family on Tuesday, November 11. Her family stated that she was a huge fan of Abdul's, so much so that it bordered on obsession (okay, some call it "super-fan" or "extreme-fan", but it's still an obsession). The currently un-named woman, who has gone missing once before, has a reported history of mental illness, according to the family. When she went missing this time, they informed the police, letting them know that they feared she might try to harm herself.

An Infatuation with Paula

In a public statement, a Sherman Oaks, California police captain said that the woman had "…an infatuation with Ms. Abdul." Los Angeles police found the 30-year old obsessed fan dead in a car in front of Paula Abdul's house in Sherman Oaks. They are investigating the death as an apparent suicide and are waiting on a final autopsy report to determine the final cause of death. Police state that they found a bottle of prescription drugs in the woman's car.

Abdul's Response

Paula Abdul has responded to the "extreme fan's" death by publicly stating that she is "…deeply shocked and saddened" and that her "…heart and prayers go out to her family."
