Nicole Richie: Getting Married and with Child

The rumors surrounding Nicole Richie's pregnancy are true -- the Simple Life star and boyfriend Joel Madden are expecting their first child in January 2008, according to MTV.com. But that's not all -- the couple is also planning to get married during the summer of 2007.
Not So Simple
Nicole Richie has been in the spotlight several times over the last few years for her feuds with gal pal Paris Hilton, her rumored eating disorder and finally for her two DUI arrests. The reality star has made up with her friend, but more talk about her obvious skinny waif frame has friends wondering if she will be able to carry her baby to full-term without complications.
There is also some talk about how her pregnancy may or may not keep her out of jail. She is scheduled to appear in court July 11, 2007 on charges stemming from the December 2006 arrest in which Richie drove the wrong way on a California freeway. If she is found guilty, she may take the same route as Hilton and face jail time. Richie faces up to a year behind bars since she was previously convicted on another DUI charge. That would mean delivering her baby at a Los Angeles hospital and within a few days, returning to jail without her new bundle of joy.
Who's the Daddy?
Joel Madden is the frontman for the pop/punk/post-grunge group Good Charlotte. He and Richie started dating in late 2006 and are expected to be married in July 2007. Before Richie, Madden hooked up with singer/actress Hilary Duff.
