From LoveToKnow Celebrity

Nick Hogan is a free man after serving just under six months of his original eight month jail sentence.

The Accident

The youngest Hogan, known for his affinity for fast cars and careless driving, was serving the sentence due to a 2007 accident that gravely injured his friend John Graziano. Hogan and another man were drag racing when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a concrete median, causing the car to flip and hit a palm tree. Nick walked away with a few cuts and scrapes while Graziano remains in a coma. Graziano was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Early Release

Although Hogan still has to complete 500 hours of community service, serve five years of probation and has a suspended driver's license for three years, he was released two and a half months early for good behavior.

A Changed Man

Nick's father, Terry "Hulk" Hogan, commented that his youngest son who, before the accident and serving time in jail was, "…moving through life not real appreciative of things" is a changed man. The Hulk even went so far as to say that serving time was "…the best thing that ever happened to him." Nick may not agree, but apparently, the 17 year old boy that went into jail is now a better man.

Pending Lawsuit

The Graziano family has filed a lawsuit against Nick for his role in the accident. The family has also named his parents as defendants in the suit, claiming they are also legally responsible for their son's injuries.
