Actress Naomi Watts attended the Academcy Awards on February 25, 2007 wearing a beautiful yellow empire-waist gown. That afternoon, Escada, who designed the frock, mentioned in a statement that Watts was pregnant. The press release was sent to media outlets and read, “The Escada gown sets off her most precious new asset — the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber."
Is She or Isn’t She?
Prior to this oops, Watts declined to comment about whether she was expecting, despite a mention of the probable pregnancy in the New York Post. Even during her red carpet interviews, which she walked with friend Nicole Kidman, the actress stayed mum on the topic of pregnancy. Schreiber did not attend the Oscar ceremony because of his commitment to the Broadway revival of Talk Radio.
Baby News on Late-Night Talk Show
Schreiber set the baby rumors straight during his February 26 appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. The talk show host congratulated Schreiber on his impending bundle of joy, to which he responded, "Yes, I'm going to be a dad. Very exciting."
Schreiber also said he would be staying out of the naming decision but is adamant that the baby will not share his name. "It's an awful name," he said.

Naomi Watts, 38, is perhaps most famous for her roles in King Kong, The Ring and The Ring Two. Schreiber, 39, starred in The Manchurian Candidate and The Omen, among other films. The couple began dating in 2005 but have yet to tie the knot. They appeared together in the 2006 film The Painted Veil.
