Melissa Rycroft Engaged

Melissa Rycroft, who was recently and briefly engaged to The Bachelor star Jason Mesnick, has announced that she is once again engaged, this time to boyfriend Tye Strickland.

The Bachelor

Rycroft first appeared as one of the bachelorettes on the thirteenth season of the popular dating show The Bachelor. Jason Mesnik, who was the actual bachelor on the show, chose Rycroft in the end and proposed to her. She accepted, and fans assumed the couple was happy together.

In fact, during the Bachelor: After the Final Rose broadcast, Mesnick broke up with Rycroft and opted to pursue a relationship with Molly Malaney, the runner-up. Rycroft did several interviews in the days after this heartbreaking event, and seemed genuinely devastated by how she was treated.

Dancing With the Stars

Soon afterwards, Nancy O'Dell had to pull out the current season of Dancing With the Stars due to injury, and Rycroft was offered the spot. She did very well on the show, outlasting most of the other celebrity contestants.In fact, she made it right to the finale, before losing out to Shawn Johnson.

Engagement

Now, the two-time reality TV star is engaged again, and this time she says it's for real. Dallas-based insurance agent Tye Strickland had been dating Rycroft on and off for two years before she appeared on The Bachelor. Rycroft tells People magazine that the relationship never seemed to work out, and that they couldn't commit to each other 100 percent. So, she took a chance and appeared on the dating show.

When she returned, Strickland was interested in rekindling their relationship. Rycroft claims that she held him back for a month before giving him another chance. Apparently, he proved himself very well to her! No wedding date has been set at this time.

Currently, Rycroft can be seen on Good Morning America as a summer reporter.
