Mel Gibson Confirms Girlfriend's Pregnancy

Mel Gibson confirms his girlfriend's pregnancy on national television.

Mel Gibson visited Jay Leno (as one of his last guests before he signed off for good) to have a friendly chat with the veteran talk show host, when Gibson confirmed that his girlfriend, singer Oksana Grigorieva, is pregnant. The two allegedly began their relationship when the Russian born singer was hired to do a song for the soundtrack of Gibson's upcoming film Edge of Darkness.

Gibson and his wife of nearly 30 years, Robyn, filed for divorce in April of 2009, though some sources claim the couple has been technically separated for over three years. Other sources state that the alleged affair was the reason why Robyn Gibson filed papers.

During the interview, Mel began referring to himself as "Octo-Mel" as this new bundle of joy, reportedly due in the fall of 2009, is Gibson's eighth child. He and Robyn have seven children together, their youngest was born in 1999, making a 20 year age span between his youngest son and newest arrival.

Though this is Mel's eighth child, it is Grigorieva's second. She and former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton had a son together in 1997. Like Gibson (who is 15 years her senior), Timothy Dalton is significantly older than Grigorieva to the tune of about 25 years.
