Mel Gibson’s Upcoming Interview with Diane
Sawyer
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Following his drunk driving and anti-Semitic comments during an incident on July 28th, Mel Gibson has withered from the spotlight. His arrest was a major image-breaker, as Gibson had previously been viewed as a nice guy and a family man. Following an apology for what he called "vitriolic and harmful words," Gibson ultimately retreated to rehab to better his situation.
Hope for a Mel Gibson Comeback?
Well, he's hoping so, anyway. Whenever a star messes up, it's only a matter of time before they sit down for a public interview to clear the air and build themselves back up again. Seeing as Barbara Walters boycotted Mel Gibson's films, she won't be conducting one of her signature interviews. Instead, Diane Sawyer will be taking on the task on ABC's Good Morning America.
Diane Sawyer Interviews Mel Gibson
The Diane Sawyer/Mel Gibson interview will air on Good Morning America on October 12th and 13th. While Gibson hopes to spend some of the interview promoting his upcoming film, Apocalypto, it's likely the film talk will take a backseat to reveal more about his alcoholism and the details of his arrest. This marks the first time that Mel Gibson has spoken to the media since his summer arrest. So far, few details about the interview have been leaked.
Gibson Goes Undercover
During a recent screening of Apocalypto in Oklahoma, Gibson arrived wearing a mask and wig in an effort to avoid the press. He did, however, answer questions at a film festival in Austin, Texas, but made no mention about his arrest or rehab treatment.

Comments
I heard that Mel Gibson preapproved the questions Sawyer will ask, so don't expect any big surprises. He has likely already gotten his scripted responses to study up on.
