Spring is here and with it, there are several May celebrity birthdays to celebrate.

Country singer Tim McGraw with his wife, Faith Hill. McGraw will celebrate his 40th birthday May 1, 2007.

May 1: Tim McGraw

Award-winning country crooner Samuel Timothy McGraw is turning 40 this year. Born May 1, 1967 in Delhi, Louisiana, McGraw married fellow country singer Faith Hill on October 6, 1996 and together have three children. He released his 11th album, Let it Go, in March 2007 and will hit the road this year with his wife in their "Soul2Soul 2007" tour.

May 2: David Beckham

David Beckham

Soccer midfielder David Robert Joseph Beckham was born May 2, 1975 in Leytonstone, London, England. He is married to former Spice Girl, Victoria Adams (Posh Spice), and recently signed a multi-year, multimillion-dollar deal to play with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Because of his stunning athletic ability - not to mention good looks -- he has become the most famous soccer player in the world.

May 4: Lance Bass

Another May celebrity birthday worth celebrating is 'N Sync member James Lance Bass. He was born May 4, 1979 in Clinton, Mississippi. In 2006, he announced he was a gay celebrity. That same year, he also started Lance Bass Productions. Bass has been linked romantically to Reichen Lehmkuhl, season four winner of the The Amazing Race. As a singer, he was part of one of the most well-known boy bands of the late 1990s.

May 6: George Clooney

What hasn't been said about George Clooney? Born May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky, Clooney is known for savvy good looks and outstanding acting in such television shows as ER and Roseanne, and movies including Ocean's 11 and Syriana. In 2007, watch for the Academy Award-winning actor in Ocean's 13, the drama thriller Michael Clayton and Leatherheads.

May 9: Billy Joel

Born May 9, 1949 in Bronx, New York, award-winning composer and singer William Martin "Billy" Joel has sold more than 100 million albums and garnered six Grammy awards. He's been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. He supposedly retired in 1993, but sometimes tours with Elton John. He released a new single in February 2007, entitled All My Life.

May 10: Bono

Paul David Hewson, aka Bono, was born May 10, 1960 in Dublin, Ireland. The frontman for the rock group U2 is also known for his humanitarian work in Africa and has worked to raise money to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Bono has won many awards with U2, including 22 Grammy awards and a Golden Globe for best original song. U2 was inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.

May 22: Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was born May 22, 1970 in Streatham, South London, England. She has appeared on hundreds of magazine covers and modeled clothing designed by Ralph Lauren, Francois Nars and Gianni Versace. She is planning to launch a new signature line of lingerie with fashion designer Christopher Kane. In March 2007, she was sentenced to mopping the floors in New York City's Sanitation Department for throwing her crystal-encrusted mobile phone at her maid in 2006.

May 29: Melissa Etheridge

Melissa Etheridge

Singer Melissa Lou Etheridge was born May 28, 1961 in Leavenworth, Kansas. An openly gay celebrity and activist, Etheridge exchanged commitment vows with partner Tammy Lynn Michaels in 2003. The award-winning musician was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. In 2007, she won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for I Need to Wake Up, the theme song to Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth.

May 31: Brooke Shields

A former Calvin Klein Jeans teenage model and actress, Brooke Christa Shields was born May 31, 1965 in New York, New York. She has starred in many movies, including The Blue Lagoon, Endless Love and Pretty Baby. She also starred in the popular television show, Suddenly Susan. In recent years, Shields has been a celebrity spokesperson for postpartum depression, a battle she faced after the birth of her two daughters, and one that has been criticized by actor Tom Cruise.
