Rock musician Jon Bon Jovi was born in New Jersey in 1962 as John Bongiovi. He changed his name when he signed his first record contract. His band, Bon Jovi, was huge in the 1980s. His hits included Runaway and You Give Love a Bad Name.
March 6: Ed McMahon and Shaquille O’Neal
Ed McMahon began his career co-hosting the Tonight Show. He was born in 1923 and is most famous for knocking on doors of unsuspecting winners as the spokesman of American Family Publishing sweepstakes.
Miami Heat NBA basketball pro Shaquille O’Neal was born in 1972. This 7-foot, 1-inch player wears a size 22 shoe and is referred to as Shaq.
March 10: Sharon Stone and Prince Edward
Actress Sharon Stone was born in 1958. The movie Basic Instinct was a turning point for her career. At one time, she was considered the sexiest actress in Hollywood.
Prince Edward (Antony Richard Louis Mountbatten-Windsor), Earl of Wessex, is the third son of Queen Elizabeth II. His birthdate was in 1964. In 1987, he resigned from the Royal Marines to work in the theater. He is seventh in line to the British throne.
March 12: Liza Minelli
Actress Judy Garland gave birth to Liza Minelli in 1946. Liza took after her mom and became an award-winning actress, singer and dancer. She is well-known for her live revues.
March 15: Eva Longoria
Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The youngest of three sisters, Miss Longoria recently became Mrs. Eva Longoria Parker after proudly adopting the name of her San Antonio Spur's husband, Tony Parker.
March 18: Queen Latifah
Musician and actress Dana Elaine Owens was born in 1970 in New Jersey. Her Muslim cousin called her Latifah (meaning nice) since she was eight years old. She later adopted Queen Latifah as her stage name. Her most recent movie is Hairspray. The film also stars, among others, tween idol Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Michelle Pfeiffer and John Travolta.
March 19: Glenn Close and Bruce Willis
Award-winning actress Glenn Close (born in 1947) is known for her numerous roles including the psychotic book editor Alex in Fatal Attraction and Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmations. Her career includes films, television and Broadway performances.
Bruce Willis began his career on Broadway and quickly became a hit action hero on the big screen. He was born in 1955 on a military base in Germany. He starred in the television series Moonlighting and made a successful transition into movies.
March 21: Matthew Broderick and Rosie O’Donnell
Actor Matthew Broderick has acted on the big screen and on Broadway. He was born to actor James Wilke Broderick and playwright Patricia Biow, a playwright, in 1962. His most memorable role was Ferris in the 1980s hit Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Talk show host and comedienne Rosie O'Donnell was born in 1962. She is well-known for her strong opinions, and currently appears on the ABC show, The View.
March 22: William Shatner and Reese Witherspoon
Star Trek actor William Shatner was born in Canada in 1931. Besides acting, Shatner can add author, producer, director, singer and Priceline.com spokesman to his resume.
Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born in 1976. She starred in Election, Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama. In 2006, she won an Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line.
March 25: Sir Elton John and Sarah Jessica Parker
English music genius Sir Elton John was born as Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947. This great pianist has sold over 250 million records with more than 50 Top 40 hits.
Sarah Jessica Parker is best known as Carrie Bradshaw in HBO’s hit series Sex and the City. Born in 1965, Sarah got her start as a young girl on Broadway. She is married to actor Matthew Broderick, who also celebrates a March birthday.
March 26: Kenny Chesney
Country singer Kenny Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1968. Kenny recently was recognized for selling 25 million records in 2006. He was also honored at the Academy of Country Music Awards as Entertainer of the Year. Chesney married actress Renee Zellweger in 2005, but they had their marriage annulled four months later.
March 27: Mariah Carey
Singer, songwriter, actress and record producer Mariah Carey was born in 1970. She was named the best-selling female artist of all time at the World Music Awards in 2000. She is known for being able to hit notes from the alto vocal range leading to those of a coloratura soprano.
March 30: Eric Clapton and Celine Dion
Eric Clapton is considered one of the most influential and respected singers from the 20th century. He was born in 1945 and is known for his great guitar music and vocals.
Canadian born singer Celine Dion was born in 1968. After selling more than 175 million records, she now performs at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
