Man Arrested in Jennifer Hudson Family
Murders
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
A man has been arrested in connection with the murders of Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother.
Family Domestic Dispute
Reports read that there were no signs of forced entry at Hudson's mom's home in Chicago's notoriously violent south side. Another family member found Hudson's mom, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, dead in the home. Chicago police are investigating the case as a domestic dispute.
Initial reports also state that one of the victims had defensive wounds on their body in an attempt to fend off their attacker.
Police arrested William Balfour in connection with the murders. Balfour, who was once married to Jennifer's sister Julia, was released from prison in 2006 after serving a seven-year sentence for attempted murder and other charges.
Nephew Still Missing
Hudson's seven-year-old nephew, Julian King, was believed to be with Balfour, but was not at the time of his arrest and remains missing. Police have issued a nationwide Amber Alert for the boy and are reportedly questioning acquaintances of Balfour's in hopes of finding and returning the boy safely to his mother.
Hudson has always talked about how close she was to her family and how her siblings kept her "grounded" amidst her rise to fame. Representatives for Hudson have requested that the public respect her privacy and give her time to grieve the devastating loss of her mother and brother.
