People magazine is reporting that Lindsay Lohan is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. The report comes directly from Lohan’s rep and seems to support the media’s portrayal of her party girl image.
Party Girl Reputation
Lindsay Lohan has recently been criticized for her party girl outings, which have in some cases affected her work. She reportedly showed up late and even called in sick during production for the film Georgia Rule. The production company even threatened to sue the actress if she did not fulfill her commitment to the film. Her lateness and absences cost the film money and she lost the respect of her co-stars in the process.
Dismissing Rumors on Oprah
Lindsay Lohan appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in early November to promote the movie Bobby and speak out about how the media portrays her as a party girl. Lohan told Oprah, "I'm 20 years old. Is it a crime to go... dancing with your friends? I have a life and I have my family and I have work and I have those three things."
Best Friends a Bad Influence?
Lohan has been seen clubbing with pals Paris Hilton and, more recently, a newly-single Britney Spears. In mid-November, Lohan was videotaped leaving a club as she said some not-so-nice things about Hilton. The two have since seemed to reconcile, again hitting the late night scene and bringing along Spears for the ride.
Alcoholics Anonymous
The current admission that Lohan is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings will hopefully put her on the right track and earn back the respect of her Hollywood peers. Lindsay Lohan’s publicist spoke out about the decision to get support, saying that she hoped the press would respect her and not follow her to or from meetings.
