Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty

Lil Wayne pleads guilty to a 2007 gun charge.

Most of the news about Lil Wayne lately has been about his multitude of career success and about babies. Seems like Lil Wayne just made a new addition to his growing brood of children, when news breaks that one more is on the way. Anyway, back to the gun charges.

Back in 2007, Lil Wayne's tour bus was pulled over in New York. The hip hop artist allegedly threw a Louis Vuitton bag out the window. The no doubt, very expensive bag, was found to have a gun inside. Wayne was charged with weapons possession and his trial date set for October of 2009. Word is out that Lil Wayne will plead guilty to a charge that is projected to have some serious consequences.

Depending on the level of the weapons charge felony, the maximum sentence is seven years in prison. In cases such as Lil Wayne's, it is considered a "Level D" violent felony and carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. Most experts speculate that Wayne will be sentenced to the full year in prison.

After this trial is over, Wayne is sent to Arizona to face drug possession charges in which he has plead not guilty.
