Kimmel and Silverman Call it Quits
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman have called it quits to their five-year relationship.
People Magazine's "Funniest Couple Alive"
Kimmel and Silverman seemed as though they were one of the more solid Hollywood couples and were recently tagged the "Funniest Couple Alive" by People magazine. The duo did speak openly about their relationship and often exchanged barbs on Kimmel's show Jimmy Kimmel Live. The pair met at a roast for Hugh Hefner at which Silverman called Kimmel fat.
Kimmel, in his self-deprecating nature, took the acerbic comedian's comments in stride (she also said he "had no charisma") and hired her to do a few voices on his Comedy Central show Crank Yankers. From there, Silverman commented that the two began "hanging out" and eventually, Kimmel kissed her.
After the funny man divorced his wife, the two came out publicly as a couple. When asked why the relationship just "worked," Silverman was less sarcastic, commenting that Kimmel was "probably one of the most thoughtful people I know." When presented with the same question, Kimmel commented on how Sarah was "funny and smart…" adding "plus, she likes fat guys. What more could I ask?"
While both Kimmel's and Silverman's publicist have confirmed the break-up, neither of them have any further comment as to why and how the split happened. Of course, as with all celebrity couple break-ups, you can be sure that there will be speculation as to why the two parted ways.
