Like many other celebrities before her, Kardashian dealt with the repercussions of a leaked sex tape and has moved on, not letting it interfere with her celebrity status.

In 2007, fans were surprised to learn that a sex tape featuring socialite Kim Kardashian and her then-boyfriend Ray J had been leaked. Vivid Entertaiment copied and distributed the, which was purchased from an unnamed third party, selling lots of copies before the pair even knew it had gotten out.

The tape itself was recorded by Ray J and Kardashian, while they were on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. At the time they were very much in love. Ray J told Tyra Banks on her talk show that the tape was created because they were "bored" and decided to do it for fun. He also joked that he watched the tape to evaluate his performance and see where he could improve.

The Kim Kardashian video is extremely graphic, and was soon available for purchase in hotel rooms across the country, and could be downloaded online for a steep price.

Kardashian was given possession of the tape itself, but somehow another individual had access to the sex tape and was responsible for its leak. Kardashian and Ray J sued Vivid Entertainment, claiming that they hadn't given permission for the video to be sold, and the case was settled before going to court.

Kim Kardashian is one of three Kardashian sisters who are famous for being the daughters of the late Robert Kardashian. Robert was one of the defense lawyers in the infamous O.J. Simpson trial in 2003, and had represented a number of the rich and famous in their various legal pursuits. Kim's sisters are Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, and their mother is Kris Houghton, who is currently married to Bruce Jenner.

Kim Kardashian became a celebrity stylist, and one of her first clients was singer Brandy. Brandy's brother, Ray J, took an interest in Kardashian, and the two were soon inseparable. The relationship didn't last, however, and Kardashian is now dating NFL star Reggie Bush.

Kim has appeared on a number of reality TV shows, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Dancing With the Stars. She has also appeared in Playboy magazine, as a direct result of her sex tape having been issued. Many admire Kardashian for her curvy figure.

About Ray J

Ray J is really William Raymond Norman Jr. He began a short-lived acting career when he was only eight years old, appearing in commercials. He is now a well-known hip hop and R&B recording artist who has worked with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Lil' Kim, and his sister, Brandy. He owns his own independent record label, Knockout Entertainment.

Ray J has also had his own reality television show, called For the Love of Ray J, which aired on VH1 in early 2009. The program was a typical dating show, during which female suitors faced elimination one by one until only a single bachelorette was left.

Moving On

Both Ray J and Kardashian were open and honest with the media about their video, addressing all of the questions that came their way. Ray J has said that the two of them spent some time together piecing all of the details regarding the leak, and that they knew who had done it.

Brandy also appeared on Tyra Banks' talk show and addressed questions about the video. She claims to not have watched it and said that the celebrity couple were boyfriend and girlfriend and in love at the time, which makes it a little less sensational.

Eventually, the media hoopla died down and both Kardashian and Ray J have moved on with their lives.
