Kid Rock Caught in the Fray
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
The self proclaimed Rock N Roll Jesus known as Kid Rock has been arrested yet again, on another misdemeanor battery charge.
Battery Chargin'
This latest battery charge for Kid Rock is closely followed by his MTV Video Music Awards kafuffle with Tommy Lee. In both cases, it seems, that Kid Rock was defending someone else. The first time, his (and Tommy Lee's) ex-wife, Pamela Anderson and the second time, an unnamed woman in his entourage.
Waffle House Showdown
Okay, maybe it wasn't quite as dramatic as a showdown. Here's the timeline:
- Approximately 5:15 a.m., Kid Rock and his entourage of five, enter The Waffle House in Dekalb County, Georgia.
- A short time later, the unnamed woman in Kid Rock's entourage was approached by one Harlem DeJon Akins, claiming he knew Kid's female compadre.
- Heated words were exchanged between the female and Akins.
- Kid Rock, witnessing the trouble, intervened on said female's behalf.
- An argument of words escalated into a physical altercation that moved from inside the restaurant out to the parking lot.
- Physical altercation ends with a broken window (courtesy of Akins).
- Kid Rock and his entourage leave in the tour bus, which is pulled over a short time later.
- Entire entourage is arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery.
- Akins is also arrested and charged with a felonious, second-degree criminal damage for smashing The Waffle House window.
The Kid is Alright
With the misbehavior of movie stars and musicians running rampant these days, Kid Rock sockin' it to a disrespectful Tommy Lee and defending a female friend in what has been reported as a "heated exchange" doesn't seem so bad comparatively. Yes, any form of physical violence is wrong, but compared to rapper T.I.'s gun charges (that's machine guns, folks), Lindsay Lohan's penchant for crashing her Mercedes while high, drunk or both and superstar athlete Michael Vick's dog troubles, Kid Rock's altercations, although wrong, seem like child's play by Hollywood standards.
