Kanye West Arrested

Airport Incident

Leave it up to Kanye West to stir up trouble at one of the nation's busiest airports, LAX, on September 11th. As though people aren't already jumpy enough. So, what was the ruckus all about? Just some cameraman trying to take the egomaniacal rapper's picture. Again, leave it to Kanye, one of the most self-promoting names in show business, to decide he doesn't want his picture taken. Wonders may never cease.

The story goes that a photographer tried to video tape some footage of Kanye, his manager, Don Crowley and his entourage when Kanye went into a hissy fit of rage. He reportedly grabbed the photographer's video camera and smashed it to the ground. One eyewitness reported it to be "…quite a scene."

Apparently, Mr. West couldn't hold his temper until he made it through security, where the photographers couldn't go without a boarding pass.

The Arrest

Airport police arrived and arrested West and Crowley and they were promptly hauled off to the clink. No word yet on formal charges, but the pair were arrested under "suspicion of felony vandalism" as the destroyed video camera is said to be worth an estimated $10,000.

Now, Kanye West has been known for his extremely high self-esteem, so why get into it with a photographer? What? Is he running low on street cred?
