The news is official: Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have ended their almost four-year relationship.
Rumors Abound
Since the beginning of their relationship in June 2003, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have always been the subject of media attention. Tabloids speculated about whether or not they were together, buying a home together, getting married, or breaking up.
The latest rumor came in an Us Weekly cover story, alleging that Timberlake and Diaz had split, and that Justin had moved on with actress Scarlett Johansson.
Statement of Their Split
The couple issued a statement on January 11, 2007, after rumors began swirling that they were once again on the rocks. The statement read:
"It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media. We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another."
