Julianne Hough Tops the Charts
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
After taking the trophy twice on Dancing with the Stars, Julianne Hough takes another trophy of sorts.
Dancing with the Stars Champion
19-year-old Julianne is the youngest professional dancer that has ever competed on Dancing with the Stars. Her first win came during season four when she was partnered with Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno. Hough went on to win the trophy a second time in season five with her partner, Indy 500 racer Helio Castroneves. Julianne's winning streak came to an end when she and partner Adam Corolla were eliminated after the fourth round of competition during season six.
From Dancing to Singing
Shortly after Julianne's most recent elimination on Dancing with the Stars, she officially launched her music career via country music label Mercury Nashville, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Hough revealed that she signed with the company after season five of Dancing with the Stars.
Most people have serious doubts when actors (or dancers, in this case) make an attempt to cross over to another form of entertainment. All the doubts can now be laid to rest as her self titled album made its mark on Billboard's Top Country charts, landing in the much coveted Number One spot. The album currently rests comfortably at number three on the Billboard 200. As if that weren't enough to measure the success of Hough's album, her single That Song in My Head continues to climb the Hot Country charts.
Hough plans on touring with country music star Brad Paisley on his "Paisley Party Tour" that is set to begin June 11, 2008.
