Jennie Garth on Next Dancing with the Stars

After fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Ian Ziering competed on Dancing with the Stars, and with rumors that Tori Spelling is interested in doing the reality show, Jennie Garth’s representative has announced that Garth will be joining the show’s fall lineup.

Jennie Garth co-starred on Beverly Hills, 90210 in the 1990s, playing Kelly Taylor. Following the series’ run, Garth continued to star in television movies before landing a role in the 2002 sitcom What I Like About You, with Amanda Bynes. After the comedy ended in 2006, Garth spent a year out of the spotlight. Until now.

Dancing with the Stars proved that viewers were interested in watching celebrities participate in a ballroom dancing competition. Throughout the seasons, the show has featured celebs such as Drew Lachey, Joe Fatone, Emmitt Smith, Joey Lawrence and Heather Mills. Ian Ziering marked the first 90210 alum to compete on the show.

In a recent In Touch Weekly article, Ziering admitted that he persuaded Garth to join the dance-off, saying, "She had a lot of trepidation at first. And as an actor, it's scary because there is no second take. If you screw up, it's out there for everyone to see." Jennie Garth’s publicist confirmed the news with Access Hollywood, saying, "It's official [Garth will be doing the show next season].”

Of course, the news of Jennie Garth has been hush-hush by ABC, who typically does not release the names of the contestants until shortly before the new season begins. It will likely be late summer before the network breaks the news about the fall season’s participants.
