J Lo Finally Comes Clean

It's About Time

Although the couple has taken a tight-lipped approach to pregnancy questions over the past few months, for most everyone, the news comes as no surprise. Everyone from TMZ to MSN noted Lopez's uncharacteristically billowy clothing and commented on the pictures circulating the tabloids and the Internet of her growing belly. Even Damien Fahey, host of MTV's TRL stated "If I were a betting man, I would definitely bet she was pregnant," after J-Lo stopped by the wildly popular show to promote her new CD Brave.

Why the Secrecy?

Among the many pregnancy Old Wives tales, there is that one about not telling anyone you are pregnant until after the first trimester for fear of losing the baby. Since that tale has so clearly been proven wrong by the millions of women whom have called their families and friends to let them know they are pregnant the second the test comes back positive, that's probably not the reason the J-Lo has kept her pregnancy a secret. It probably had something more to do with privacy.

Now that Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez have publicly announced that she is in fact pregnant, their fans can offer them a very public congratulations and best wishes. Let's just hope that they don't keep their fans waiting for pictures of their newest member of the family once he or she is born. Nobody wants another Suri Cruise incident.
