Husbands of Marie Osmond

There have only been two husbands of Marie Osmond, though the two relationships could not have been more different.

Marie Osmond has been married twice.

The Osmond family is well-known for their musical success in the 1960s and 70s. Marie's older brothers started out as child stars, singing and performing on variety shows and eventually recording albums and touring together.

Osmond has been in the spotlight for most of her life as an entertainer and her marriages and breakups have been well documented in the media. Marie Osmond first hit the mainstream music scene with her 1973 hit single Paper Roses. After a few more chart successes, she ventured into television on Donny and Marie, a variety show that aired from 1976 to 1979, which she hosted with her brother. The pair were known for their matching outfits and wholesome song and dance routines.

Osmond continued to record country music, having modest success with her albums. She's also ventured into acting, and currently has a best-selling line of ceramic collector dolls that she has designed herself. Marie Osmond has appeared in a couple of reality TV programs as well, including Dancing With the Stars and acting as a judge on Celebrity Duets.

The husbands of Marie Osmond are extremely different from one another and this is reflected in many aspects of the marriages.

Steve Craig was a basketball player, real estate salesman and production designer. Craig and Osmond met five years before their wedding at a basketball game at Baylor University, where Craig played. Their courtship began a little more than three years later and they were married after 18 months of dating. The wedding was held on June 26, 1982, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The ceremony was a private one, but Osmond's dress captured a lot of attention. With a 16-foot train and yards upon yards of silk taffeta, the designer dress became the inspiration for a number of knock-offs and copycats. According to media reports, over 4,000 guests attended the reception.

Osmond had one son with Craig, named Stephen James, in 1983. Soon after the birth of their son, however, their marriage began to suffer. The pair separated and reconciled twice, but in 1985 were divorced. Osmond cited mental cruelty as the reason for the petition to divorce and Craig has said that he simply wasn't ready to be a husband and father at the time. There were also reports of Craig's infidelity, which undoubtedly contributed to the end of their marriage.

Marie Osmond's second husband was record producer Brian Blosil. The two were introduced to each other at a party in early 1986 and married on October 28 of that same year. The wedding was held at the Jordan River Temple in South Jordan, Utah.

Once again, Osmond's dress was popular. She chose a full-length white gown, with a high neckline and lots of sequins.

Seven more children came along for Marie and Brian. Five of these children were adopted and Osmond has said that she suffered from severe postpartum depression after the births of her three other kids. The Osmond/Blosil children are:

Brian Blosil also adopted Stephen James, Osmond's son with her first husband.

The couple had been separated once, in 2000, but had reconciled. The media at that time reported that Marie had deserted her family due to a bout with depression. Unfortunately, in March of 2007, Osmond and Blosil announced that they were divorcing. The divorce was amicable, and the pair remain friendly for the sake of their children.

In addition to her marriages, Marie Osmond was once engaged to actor and singer Jeff Crayton. The engagement was announced in June of 1979, and only five weeks later, in August, the wedding was abruptly canceled..
