Howard K. Stern Preliminary Trial Date Set
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
The Howard K. Stern trial is set to begin in Los Angeles regarding the death of Anna Nicole Smith.
Alleged Illegal Prescriptions
Former boyfriend and lawyer Howard K. Stern, along with doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich, are facing a preliminary court date to determine whether the trio will go to trial for allegedly providing Anna Nicole Smith with the prescription drugs that ultimately led to her death.
Anna Nicole Smith died shortly after her son, Daniel, who also died of an overdose of prescription drugs and methadone. Her death also came shortly after she gave birth to her daughter, who was the center of a lengthy custody dispute between boyfriend Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead. Through DNA testing, Birkhead was found to be the father of Anna's daughter, Dannielynn.
The Possible Charges
The three are accused of obtaining prescription drugs for Anna Nicole under fake names. What? These three grown people didn't know that was against the law? To make matters worse, their hired mouthpieces say that they were just doing what they were told to do by Anna. They go on to further claim that all the prescriptions were legitimate, legal and medically necessary. Well if they were so "legal" then why the need for all three of them to use aliases?
Who knows, but the preliminary hearing is set to begin in August. Each of them face up to five years in prison if convicted on the charges brought before them.
