Damon is a well-known and respected actor, writer and producer who made an initial splash in Hollywood with his breakthrough portrayal of Will Hunting in the movie Good Will Hunting, which he also co-wrote.
Matt Damon is actually of average height, clocking in at 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Some fans have wondered whether or not he wears lifts in his shoes for certain movie roles. It wouldn't be surprising if he did, however, since shoe lifts are a common prop used in films to make the actors look taller or even more foreboding.
About Matt Damon
Matt Damon was born on October 8, 1970, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has an older brother named Kyle, who is a sculptor. Damon participated in community and school theater productions through the end of high schoo, and began studying at Harvard where he focused on English courses. He dropped out of Harvard, however, to pursue his acting career.
After several small roles in films such as Mystic Pizza, he and his friend Ben Affleck began shopping around an original screenplay they had written together. The screenplay eventually became Good Will Hunting, in which both actors also starred. The movie garnered nine Academy Award nominations and Affleck and Damon won for Best Original Screenplay. Ben Affleck has also gone on to achieve a successful acting career, and the pair teamed up again for a couple of other movies and appearances.

Matt Damon is married to Luciana Bozan Barroso, an Argentinean woman who was working as a bartender in Florida when the pair met in 2005. They have two children together, both daughters, named Isabella and Gia. Barroso also has one daughter from a previous marriage, named Alexia.
Damon is a big fan of the Major League Baseball team the Boston Red Sox, and narrated the team's World Series Championship DVD in 2007. He is also active with charity work, including several appearances to benefit ONE, a foundation that raises awareness and fights poverty and AIDS in third world countries.
Matt Damon is currently a board member for the Tonic Mailstopper company, which is trying to stop all of the junk mail that gets delivered every year. Damon is in favor of halting this annoying mail, while trying to save trees at the same time.
While his 5'10" height is average, Matt Damon's career and acting ability are certainly extraordinary.
