Holly Madison was first noticed as one of the many women on Hefner’s arm. Hefner, the notorious ladies man and editor of Playboy magazine, was well-known for his entourage of girlfriends. Over time, he scaled back to just three girlfriends, with Holly taking top dog spot on the girlfriend roster.
Promotion News
In October 2007, Hefner announced that Madison had been promoted to junior photo editor. What experience does she bring to the table? Well, aside from (ahem) intimate knowledge of the Playboy Empire, Madison got her feet wet when she served as a photo editor apprentice in one episode of The Girls Next Door, assisting with the design of a 2007 Girls Next Door calendar. From there, she continued to hone her photo editorial skills and was promoted some months later.
Madison commented on her new position, "I think readers are sick of seeing the same cookie-cutter blondes. I'm looking for natural bodies." Funny, coming from a beach blonde with implants!
Playboy Model
Despite her role as Hefner’s number one girlfriend, Madison has only appeared in Playboy twice. She and fellow Hef girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, posed for the November 2005 cover and inside spread to promote The Girls Next Door. She also was featured with Marquardt and Wilkinson in the September 2006 issue.
