George Foreman Tapped as New Judge on American Inventor
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
George Foreman can now say he has done it all -- boxing great, grilling master and now, reality television show judge. Foreman, 58, was chosen to become the fourth judge for the second season of ABC's American Inventor, which premieres June 6, 2007.
About American Inventor
This reality television show features every-day inventors from around the United States who compete for a chance to mass produce and market their products. The grand prize also includes $1 million. Last year, Janusz Liberkowski won with his invention of the Anecia Safety Capsule, an encapsulated infant car seat.
The show was created by British businessman Peter Jones, who is also one of the judges, and produced by American Idol judge Simon Cowell, among a few others. Twelve inventors and their products are chosen from a pool of hundreds of entries. These semi-finalists are eventually whittled down to four finalists, who must present a commercial segment of their inventions. The viewing audience, like in American Idol, will cast the final vote.
The Other Celebrity Judges
Besides Jones, Foreman will join judges Sara Blakely, creator of Spanx shapewear, and Pat Croce, a former NBA executive. This season of American Inventor will be hosted by Nick Smith and will air Wednesday nights.
