Garth Brooks Coming Out of Retirement?
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Is Garth Brooks ready to make a comeback? Rumor has it the 45-year-old, award-winning country crooner is releasing a greatest hits collection, which includes four new songs that he co-wrote and recorded.
Coming Out of Retirement?
Garth Brooks called it quits in 2000 so he could spend more time at home in Oklahoma with his three daughters and his second wife, fellow country star Trisha Yearwood. At that time, he promised not to step foot on stage until his youngest girl graduates from high school in 2015. And except for a few benefit performances, Brooks has kept true to his word.
His New Song Collection
His new CD set, Ultimate Hits, is set to hit the stores November 6, 2007, just in time for the holidays. Brooks plans on self-releasing the collection, which contains two CDs and one DVD, on his own label, Pearl Records.
Garth Brooks will promote his new collection everywhere, he said in a press conference August 18, 2007. "It's my job to let people know it's out there," he said. "And then after February, I'm going to go back to whatever I was doing before this."
His first single from the new album, More Than a Memory, will hit the airwaves August 27, 2007. The other new songs are Workin' for a Livin' (a duet with Huey Lewis), Leave the Light On and Midnight Sun.
