"Official" After Party

Though the nightclub Djumbala, located in Brooklyn, New York, dubbed itself as the "official" after party club, the distributor of the film, Fox Searchlight, says it was not in any way affiliated with the club nor the after party. The club is reportedly located a few miles from Biggie's childhood home. Maybe that's where they got the "official" from.

Violent Stabbing

Though details are still coming in, four men were stabbed at the after party when a fight erupted. One victim, 21-year old Antwione Jones, was reportedly trying to leave the club with his fiancé when he heard the fighting and turned around. Jones was allegedly stabbed at that time. The young man is in critical condition and remains on a respirator at a Brooklyn hospital. The other three victims are in stable condition and recovering.

More Violence

The Brooklyn stabbing wasn't the only violent incident related to the Notorious premiere. In North Carolina, screenings of the film were abruptly stopped after a man was shot during an argument.

The film's gross receipts for its opening weekend landed it at the number four spot, with $21.5 million. Though its second weekend in theaters might just see those numbers fall dramatically if violence keeps following the film around.
