Fergie

Hip-hop diva Fergie seemed to have a solid start in show business as a child actor on the hit show Kids Incorporated. Through a series of hits and misses in her life, she has come out on top, singing with the group The Black Eyed Peas as well as taking on a solo career.
Early Years
Born Stacy Ann Ferguson on March 27, 1975 in Whittier, California, Ferguson began her career as a child actor. Her road to success began with providing the voice of Sally Brown in several Charlie Brown shows, including The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show in 1983, It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984), and Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown (1985). Her big break came in 1984, at just eight years old, when she joined the cast of the TV show Kids Incorporated.
Life After Kids Incorporated
Following Kids Incorporated’s run of five seasons, Ferguson sang backup for fellow Kids star Martika, before forming the trio Wild Orchid in the mid-1990s. The group included Kids Incorporated star Renee Sands and Stefanie Ridel. While the group released two albums and had moderate success with one single (Declaration), their record label refused to release a third album. Wild Orchid broke up shortly thereafter.
A Downward Spiral
The end of Wild Orchid led Ferguson into a depression, with drugs and therapy to get her through the tough times. With an addiction to ecstasy and crystal methamphetamine, it seemed she was destined to go down the shadowy path that so many child stars travel. Instead, she turned her life around and got back on track. Of the clean break from crystal meth, Ferguson told Time magazine, “It was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with.”
The Black Eyed Peas
Ferguson met with The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am in 2003 and took over for former singer Kim Hill, who left the band in 2000. Once a member, she changed her name to Fergie, no doubt to be in sync with the other band members’ catchy names. Their first hit with Fergie was called Where is the Love?, a collaboration with Justin Timberlake. The addition of a new female singer seemed to catapult the band into the spotlight, leading to a string of hits from the album Elephunk and the follow-up album Monkey Business.
Personal Life
Fergie met actor Josh Duhamel in September of 2004. Duhamel had been a regular fixture on All My Children and one of the stars of Las Vegas. Ferguson even appeared in one episode of his TV series, titled Montecito Lancers. The two became engaged in July 2005.
Fergie Goes Solo
With the success of The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie had gained enough exposure to record her own solo album. The album, titled The Dutchess, was released on September 19, 2006. She still intends to rejoin The Black Eyed Peas as well as pursue solo endeavors. She has already had success with the singles London Bridge and Fergalicious.
